Sports

Sport is a big part of life at St Mary’s. We’re proud of our strong sporting culture and the success our students achieve, both individually and as teams. Our goal is to develop young athletes who show skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship, on and off the field.

We believe sport builds confidence, leadership, and a sense of belonging. Every child is encouraged to get involved, have fun, and give their best effort.

Students enjoy a wide range of sporting opportunities throughout the year, including:

  • Whole School Athletics

  • Whole School Swimming Program, including our annual Swimming Carnival

  • Year 3 – 6 Cross Country Running

  • Year 5/6 Interschool Netball and Football

  • Year 5/6 Soccer

  • Year 3 – 6 Interschool Basketball

  • Year 5/6 Sailing Program

  • Year 3 – 6 Interschool Cricket

Before and after school programs

We also offer a range of before and after school programs, including Tennis Lessons and Fun Fit Fridays, which feature our popular Before School Run Club. Throughout the school year, our Fun Fit Friday sessions align with the sports being played at school, giving students the chance to build on their skills and stay active. Activities include netball, AFL, soccer, and cross-country running. Parents are warmly encouraged to join in and support our vibrant school community.

At St Mary’s, sport is about more than just competition, it’s about teamwork, resilience, and celebrating personal bests.
